THE RACE FOR POWER IN NIGERIA

Preambles: King Solomon said in the book of Ecclesiastes 9:11 “…….that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of skill, but time and chance happeneth to them all.”

What does the above quotation mean?
It means that winning the race for the good things of life, does not depend solely on 1.How quick one can act; 2.How strong a person is; 3. How wise or understanding or skilful a person is. But, on time and chance (ie, By Good luck). Therefore winning the race for power in the next general election in Nigeria will be a matter of chance. No Political Party or Candidate can absolutely be sure of winning the race. Moreover, there are many Political Parties and Candidates that are contesting in the next general election. Even the so called major Political Parties are not sure of winning the race. Hence, the race for power in the next general election will not be a smooth and straight forward race. There are a number of obstacles that may hinder the progress of the Political Parties and their candidates. These includes: 1. Rigging 2.Vote-Buying, 3. Violence, 4. Compromise by INEC Officials, 5. Undue Interference by the Authority in Control, 6.Deceptions and Lies, 7.Injustice. Etc.

Conclusion: Nothing much has changed in the past three years that can guarantee a free, fair, credible and peaceful election in Nigeria in 2019. Rather things have turned out to be worse and Government seems not to be able to effect any positive change, due to the fear of losing election in 2019. Except God intervenes in the 2019 General Election, things may fall apart. The Nation may find itself in a very difficult dilemma as it was in the time of King Rehoboam, when all Israel said to the king “What share do we have in David, what part in Jesse`s son? To your tents O Israel! Look after your own house O David!” 1 Kings 12:16. NIV.

  1. My brother and good friend, with patience and interest I have read ur write up (post) in BREADAC FOUNDATION on 2019 General Election which according to many political forecast may be married by violence. You talked on Deception and Lies. Votes buying, Riggings,Compromise .y KNDC officials, and Undue government interferrance. The direct resultant effect of all these is VIOLENCE which will be an ill-wind that will be an ill- wind that will blow noone any good. Deception and Lies. For the politicians, it is a Do or Die affairs. For their personal gains, repeat for their personal gains. Though they will not agree. They will say it is for the sake of Nigeria. Take it oreave it only just a few have Nigeria at heart. I tend to differ on your from your point on the Change. It is not the best of losing election in 2019 that makes the government not seem to be able to effect any positive Changes. Rather the government's inability to make appreciable positive changes should make it affraa of winning election in 2019. The opposition on the other hand are ready to rubbish the sitting government with a campaign of calumny. Don't forget these are the same old recyed crooks runni g back and forth since Independence. Who are the members of nPDP,who are members of APC or rAPC? The way forward: Revolution - dead with all the old thieves (Who will bell the cat) or let us fight the war on our knees and claim his promises blessings as contained in Iasoah Chapter 51.

    1. Thanks for your comment. Remember God rules in the affairs of men. Daniel 4:17. Also the Book of 2 Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
